Meet Your Physio - Libby

My Story: From Surgery to Specialist Perspective

At 21, a consultant told me I’d never play hockey again. Four surgeries and two years of rehab later, I realised that true recovery isn't just about "fixing" a joint, it’s about understanding the science of how we move. That experience is why I founded Ferne Physio and created The Movement Perspective (coming soon).

Expert Physiotherapy & Research-Led Care in Lincoln

Located in the heart of central Lincoln, my practice is built on a blend of genuine empathy and elite-level evidence. When I’m not in the clinic, I am a full-time PhD researcher at the Leeds Beckett Carnegie School of Sport, working alongside The Football Association (The FA).

My specialist research into sports injury prevention and surveillance, specifically within adolescent populations, allows me to bring the world’s latest evidence-based techniques directly to my patients here in Lincoln. Whether you are seeking injury recovery, sports massage, or physio-led Pilates, you are receiving care informed by the cutting edge of sports science.

The Three Pillars of Movement

I believe that long-term health isn't found in a single appointment, but in a lifelong strategy. My approach integrates three essential phases:

  • REHAB: Specialist assessment and hands-on clinical care to calm the system and restore function.

  • TRAIN: 1:1 and digital Pilates sessions, personalised exercise programmes to build a strong, balanced foundation.

  • PREVENT: Utilising my PhD research to help you "injury-proof" your body and reach peak performance.

I’ve been where you are—feeling like options are running out. I’m here to give you the clarity and the tools to get back to where you want to be.
